More information about Chelsea's attempt to sign Victor Osimhen has been revealed, and it isn't likely to go down well with Chelsea fans.
Chelsea were left unsuccessful in their longstanding pursuit of Napoli's Nigerian striker Osimhen, with the two clubs unable to meet an agreement ahead of last Friday's transfer deadline.
Osimhen would have joined the likes of Joao Felix, Jadon Sancho, Pedro Neto, Marc Guiu, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall who all joined this summer, adding to their attacking options which include Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Noni Madueke.

It seemed all but certain Chelsea would get their man following the departure of Romelu Lukaku to Napoli, but Osimhen ended up signing a one-year loan deal with Turkish side Galatasaray.
Following his move, Osimhen posted to Instagram: "Super excited to be part of the Galatasaray family! 10 I can't wait to give my all and make the most of this new journey with such an amazing group and the fans, Ready to create unforgettable memories together! Let's go Galatasaray!"
With many fans left shocked that Chelsea's deal for Osimhen failed to materialise, The Daily Telegraph's Matt Law has revealed some rather surprising information.

"I'm told their (CFC's) loan offer for Osimhen was better both for him & Napoli than whatever he signed with Galatasaray on loan," Law said, speaking on the London is Blue Podcast.
"Chelsea were told under no circumstances that he was going to move on loan by the agent, so therefore their loan offers were completely ignored.
"They saw Osimhen as a potential risk deal, which is why they pitched how they pitched in terms of a loan with all sorts of incentive-based wages and things like that."

With Osimhen confirmed to be out of Antonio Conte's plans after his number nine shirt was handed to new signing Lukaku, it appears Napoli's demands were significantly altered once the chance for Chelsea to sign the player had passed.
