A former Chelsea defender has issued a warning to the club about a potential Cole Palmer departure – and it would shock the footballing world.
Palmer, 22, is in fine form this term, having already registered 11 goals and six assists in just 15 league games this season, taking his overall goal tally for the Blues to 36 strikes in 62 appearances.
When Palmer made the switch from Manchester City in September 2023, many fans were unsure if this was the right move for the player after he had featured regularly in Pep Guardiola’s pre-season preparation ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
However, Palmer has since proved his worth and won the PFA Young Player of the Year award following an excellent debut season at Stamford Bridge.

As a result of his fantastic performances, he was called up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024.
Although he did not feature as often as he may have liked, he will no doubt cherish the goal he scored in the 2-1 loss in the final against Spain.
Ex-player issues Chelsea Cole Palmer 'warning'
Palmer would arguably walk into most teams in world football right now, and former Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham centre-back William Gallas has ‘warned’ the Blues to be prepared for the player to be cherry-picked by two elite clubs.

“At the moment, I think only Real Madrid and Barcelona could tempt Cole Palmer away from Chelsea, and I think he would thrive playing his football in Spain,” he told Prime Casino.
“That could be three seasons in the future, but I think Chelsea fans should hope that neither of those clubs come in for him any time soon.”
It is unclear if the La Liga clubs have Palmer on their radar at the moment, but it would take a huge fee.

The Englishman is contracted to Chelsea until 2023, having signed a two-year extension in August 2024.
However, Spanish outlet Fichajes recently reported that Palmer has “expressed his interest” in joining Los Blancos, but Chelsea ‘set a price’ of around £200m, with Madrid ‘cooling their interest’.
No such links have been confirmed by either the clubs or Palmer.
