It has emerged that a Chelsea player was left out of their Europa Conference League squad for both legs of their play-off against Servette following an administration error.
The Blues submitted their squad for Thursday night's play-off first leg at Stamford Bridge, with Ben Chilwell, Wesley Fofana and Raheem Sterling being omitted from the A-list submitted to UEFA.
Sterling was dropped from Chelsea's squad for their Premier League opener against Manchester City, despite being deemed an "important player" by Enzo Maresca during their pre-season campaign.

In fact, Sterling's camp released a statement, just minutes after he was left out at the weekend.
After the full-time whistle, Maresca said: “I want Raheem Sterling, but I want all the 30 players that we have, but there’s no space for all of them. So, for some of them, they have to leave.”
Another surprise omission from the Europa Conference League squad was summer signing Tosin Adarabioyo but in a slightly embarrassing turn of events, it turns out his absence was a mistake.

The 26-year-old defender, who joined Chelsea on a four-year deal in July after his contract with Fulham came to an end, was recently added back following an admin error, according to Sky reporter Kaveh Solhekol.
Tosin began his career with Manchester City at the age of five and moved through the club’s youth ranks before captaining the under-18's at 16 years old.
After making his professional debut in February 2016 at Stamford Bridge, the defender would spent season-long loan spells in the Championship with West Brom and Blackburn before joining Fulham in October 2020.
Tosin made 33 appearances in his first campaign as a Premier League player, and featured on 44 occasions the following season, playing a crucial role in their promotion from the Championship.
After impressing for the Cottagers last season, he was brought to Stamford Bridge after his contract at Fulham came to an end.

"Chelsea is a huge club and this is a full-circle moment for me," Tosin said. "I was born three miles away from Stamford Bridge and made my professional debut there.
"I’m very excited and looking forward to helping push the club in the direction we want to go."
