Chelsea have a secret weapon that could help them sign Luke Shaw from Manchester United.
According to Chelsea insider Simon Phillips, the Blues are looking at a potential move for United and England left-back Shaw.
The transfer speculation has come after Ian Maatsen was allowed to leave on loan for Borussia Dortmund earlier in the window, while Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella have faced injury issues throughout the season.

In turn, Levi Colwill has filled in on the left of the back four. While he admitted he was happy to fill in there for the team, he would prefer his long-term future at Stamford Bridge to be at centre-back.
“Obviously, I’m playing in a different position - everyone knows I’m a centre-back - but I am trying to help the team and learn as much as I can to help me in the future," Colwill said. "There have been good moments and I am happy to keep learning for the future when I return to centre-half."
Shaw has himself faced absences this term through injury, yet the 28-year-old, whose contract expires at Old Trafford in 2028, is said to be of interest to the Blues.

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino worked with the left-back at Southampton a decade ago and should he want a reunion with the player, he may be heartened by the fact Shaw grew up supporting the Blues.
In January 2013, the then-teenager spent the evening hailing Chelsea on Twitter, ahead of the Saints’ trip to Stamford Bridge.
When a fan on the social networking site asked if he supported Chelsea, Shaw replied: “#championsofeurope yes I am”.
He then said Stamford Bridge was the away ground he was most looking forward to playing at before backing then-Chelsea players Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard as better than Leighton Baines, Paul Scholes and Steven Gerrard.

Shaw added in the question and answer season that he would take Didier Drogba ahead of Samuel Eto'o.
