New Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is set to offer a lifeline to a player left unused by Mauricio Pochettino.
Following Pochettino's departure at the end of the season, the Blues found themselves on a hunt for a replacement, eventually opting for Leicester City's Maresca.
The Italian, who led the Foxes to the Championship title in his sole season at the club, is Chelsea's sixth managerial appointment in five years and the fourth since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital bought the club.

And the 44-year-old is set to make some big decisions despite only being confirmed as manager just over a week ago
One of those is the rumoured reintroduction of forgotten man Andrey Santos, who according to The Athletic could have a role in the first-team next season.
Santos spent the last campaign on loan at two different clubs. He firstly went to Nottingham Forest before finishing the season at RC Strasbourg, where he impressed. Santos was even named Ligue 1 Player of the Month for March.

The Brazillian joined Chelsea back in 2023 for an initial £11m from boyhood club Vasco Da Gama.
A youngster moving from South America to Europe can always be unpredictable, especially when it's to a team where game time will be severely limited due to the number of players registered.
As per The Sun, the original report states that Santos fits Maresca's style of play well and that “his ability to operate as a No.6 or No.8, combined with great ball retention, will be a major asset” to the club.
We could see several different Chelsea stars get an opportunity under the new manager, who will impose his own identity on the team in the hope the success he brought to Leicester can be continued.
