Alan Shearer has revealed Chelsea contacted him regarding comments about Nicolas Jackson during an episode of Match of the Day.
Jackson moved to the Blues from Villarreal for £32 million last summer and has scored four goals in his last two games.
After a slow start to life in England, the 22-year-old scored a hat-trick against Tottenham Hotspur last Monday and in Sunday's thrilling 4-4 draw with Manchester City.

If he puts it all together, Chelsea could have a lethal striker on their hands.
Speaking on the latest episode of 'The Rest Is Football' podcast, Shearer admitted he's spoken to people at Chelsea about Jackson's development.
"I mean the game just had everything from start to finish," he said.

"It was entertaining and there were so many impressive performances, particularly from the guys in a Chelsea shirt.
"Jackson I agree, I was critical of his lack of movement a few weeks ago. I got a text from Chelsea to say that they didn't think it was over the top and that they have been working on one or two things in and around that.
"He was a lot better today and full of confidence after what happened earlier in the week and that showed today."

The Senegal international is Chelsea's top scorer with six goals overall, with Cole Palmer second. All four of Palmer's goals have been from the penalty spot, however.
Shearer's previous comments about Jackson came following last month's 2-0 defeat to Brentford.
Chelsea were wasteful in front of goal, something England legend Shearer said the most prolific striker's work on.

He declared: "To be more prolific you have to get yourself into scoring positions.
"There was a complete lack of movement from him [Jackson] today. He looks very raw and at times unsure what to do.
"You’ve got to make defenders work. Goalscorers don’t hang around on the edge of the box like he does. It’s his job to get on the end of it."
Chelsea are currently 10th in the Premier League and return to action against Newcastle United after the international break.
