The wife of a current Real Madrid star criticised Carlo Ancelotti as Los Blancos lost 3-1 to AC Milan in the Champions League.

It was another Bernabeu nightmare for Real, who were thrashed 4-0 by Barcelona in their own stadium last month and have now suffered a second devastating loss.

Milan went ahead in first half through Malick Thiaw, but when Vinicius Junior equalised for Real before the break, it seemed inevitable that the tide would turn in the hosts' favour.

But it didn't, with goals from Alvaro Morata and Tijjani Reijnders either side of half-time creating a memorable night for the seven-time Champions League winners.

The defeat piles more pressure on manager Carlo Ancelotti and the players.

And the wife of Real midfielder Federico Valverde was less than happy while watching the Milan defeat.

The Uruguay star was taken off at half-time during the defeat, having begun the game on the right side of midfield.

Mina Bonino - whose account on Twitter is set to private - made her feelings clear on the decision, replying to one fan: "Fede plays best as a pivot. What are you talking about? When are they going to understand that he is not a winger?"

Ancelotti was asked about the comments in his post-match press conference, to which he replied: "It's very complicated for me. I took him off because he wasn't at 100 per cent.

"He has been dealing with back issues. He seemed to have recovered because he trained well yesterday, but he didn't appear to be at his best physical level, which is why I made the change."

Valverde was one of two half-time substitutions for Real, with the midfielder being replaced by Eduardo Camavinga.

Brahim Diaz also replaced Aurelien Tchouameni, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent days amid claims that Real may be willing to sell the France midfielder in January despite his contract running until 2028.
