Fans spotted what Kylian Mbappe’s younger brother Ethan did during Lille's dressing-room celebrations after the French side's victory over Real Madrid.

The French side secured a shock 1-0 win over the European champions thanks to a Jonathan David penalty in first-half stoppage time during their Champions League league phase clash on Wednesday night.

Madrid failed to show their usual winning mentality and succumbed to David's spot-kick, dispatched after Eduardo Camavinga had been penalised for handling in the 18-yard box.

The older of the two brothers and new Madrid forward Kylian was only fit enough to appear as a substitute, coming off the bench on 57 minutes to try and add a spark to what was a flat performance from Los Blancos but he too could not make the difference.

Kylian’s younger brother Ethan, who also moved on from former club PSG during this summer’s transfer window, was not in the matchday squad due to an injury he suffered during Lille’s recent win against Le Havre.

But despite not playing a part in the action, Ethan was overjoyed in the Ligue 1 side’s dressing room after the win. He was front and centre of the joyous celebrations within the camp and even appeared to lead a chant before his teammates joined in by smashing their hands down on a table before taking selfies to mark the occasion.

Since making the switch from Paris to Northern France, Ethan has featured three times in the French top flight but is yet to register a goal or assist for Les Dogues.

In contrast to their opponents, the Madrid dressing room will no doubt have been disappointed with their showing with manager Carlo Ancelotti not hiding his feelings in his post-match interview with the Real boss telling TNT Sports: "Today everything was quite bad. We were bad with the ball. It was hard for us to win the ball back. It was hard for us to transition. We needed to be more aggressive.

“The feeling today is that it was hard for us to create. Our possession of the ball was quite slow, with few ideas.

"We have forwards who need to play more vertically. If it's hard for you to control the ball, and it gets to the forwards slowly, it's a problem."

The result is a blow for Real given their mixed early-season form but defeat this early into their European campaign should not jeopardise the La Liga champions’ chances of progressing from the league phase as they pursue a record-extending 16th success in this competition.
