Jurgen Klopp reportedly turned down the chance to appear as a pundit for the Champions League final.
On Saturday, Klopp’s former team, Borussia Dortmund were in Champions League final action against Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid at Wembley.
Despite an encouraging first-half performance, Dortmund were ultimately beaten 2-0 by goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Junior.

As a result, Madrid successfully clinched the 15th European crown of the club’s rich history.
Klopp, who recently left Liverpool, was spotted watching his former side from the stands.
The German led Dortmund to their last Champions League final, which was also held at Wembley.

Back then, a late Arjen Robben goal sealed a 2-1 victory for Bayern Munich.
It has since been claimed that Klopp was offered a big money deal to appear as a pundit for the final but declined due to a touching reason.
Media consultant John Bradley wrote on social media: “Heard a lovely tale about Jurgen Klopp at weekend. Offered a fortune to do TV for UCL final but turned it down. Was given the opportunity to be part of UEFA VVIP’s….his response ‘Eden Terzic was always there to support my Dortmund, so I’m going as a fan to support his Dortmund’.”
SPORTbible has reached out to Jurgen Klopp’s representatives for comment.

Speaking after the bitterly disappointing defeat by Madrid, Dortmund boss Edin Terzic said: “We put in a great display and I think we deserved more than losing 2-0. From the first second we showed the whole world that we weren't just here simply to play a final – but to win it.
“We did so many things right, but they were ice cold at the right moment, which is what we lacked today. Performance-wise we showed a great game but we also found out why they [Madrid] just became European champions for the 15th time.”
He added: “They have been so effective and this is something we missed. We were very close and it's been small things missing. Congratulations to them. To keep this kind of hunger to go and win it again, you see why they are the true champions.”
