Aston Villa fans were left in complete shock after seeing a crucial equaliser ruled out in what's being labelled as 'the worst VAR decision' of the season.
On Saturday, Aston Villa faced Wolverhampton Wanderers in an exciting Premier League Birmingham derby at the Molineux Stadium.
Despite going into the match as heavy underdogs, it was the hosts that took the lead thanks to a goal in the 12th minute from French midfielder Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.

However, the biggest moment of the match came some time later after Villa saw an impressive set piece goal controversially ruled out by VAR.
Just before the hour mark, a free kick form Villa forward Leon Bailey was skilfully found my new signing Donyell Malen, but after a lengthy VAR check it was disallowed after England star Morgan Rogers was deemed to be offside while interfering with play.
Although Rogers was offside and blocking Wolves defender Nelson Semedo when the free kick was taken, he didn't make any contact and appeared to have no part in the preventing him from attempting to stop the goal.

Reacting to the moment, one fan wrote: "Absolute lunacy, VAR has completely eaten itself up.
"Another in a long line of joke decisions, arguably the worst yet."
While another added: "Never in a million years did Roger interfere with that one. Absolute shambles."
And one wrote: "They’re getting worse every week. They’re the worst officials in football right now. It’s staggering how they can get it so wrong and VAR is meant to help them too."

Explaining the decision on X, the Premier League Match Centre account wrote: "The referee's call of no goal due to an offside offence is checked and confirmed by VAR – with Rogers in an offside position and deemed to be impacting the ability of Semedo to play or challenge for the ball."
Had the goal stood, it could have completely changed the outcome of the match, potentially changing the result from a 2-0 Wolves win to a 1-1 draw, handing a vital point to Villa as they contend for a place in next season's Champions League.
Meanwhile for Wolves, the massive win takes them out of the relegation zone and into 17th place, two points ahead of Leicester City.
