Transfer expert David Ornstein has dealt a major blow to Arsenal fans with his latest update about their pursuit of a top target.
With just four days left in the January transfer window, Arsenal are yet to bring any new faces to the Emirates to strengthen the squad as they continue to push for the Premier League title.
The Gunners are reportedly hoping to bring a new striker to the club in the final days of the window, with Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins their top target despite reports that a deal remains unlikely.

And now, Ornstein has dealt another blow to Arsenal as he has revealed that they are now set to miss out on another player they had hoped to sign this window.
Earlier in the window, it was reported that Arsenal were prepared to launch a pursuit of 18-year-old Norway international Sverre Nypan.
The midfielder currently plays for Norwegian club Rosenborg and has attracted attention from several of the top clubs in Europe, with Arsenal viewing his as a potential starting player despite his youth.

January was viewed as the perfect time to launch a bid for the youngster as it falls during the Norwegian off-season, but Ornstein has now revealed that Nypan has decided to delay any potential move and stay with Rosenborg until the end of the current season.
The Norwegian regular season runs from March until November, meaning it may be another year until Nypan is next available, but it is reported that a move in the summer is still possible.
Should Nypan decided to leave in the summer, then Arsenal remain the most likely destination due to the strong relationship they have with Rosenborg and the fact that they offer the 18-year-old the chance to play alongside national teammate Martin Odegaard.

Nypan has made 60 appearances across all competitions for Rosenborg, scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists since joining in January 2022.
Over the summer he impressed after starting in his club's 1-0 friendly victory over Manchester United in July.
