Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was shocked when he learned that Arsenal decided to let a player go last summer.
This season's Premier League title race looks set to be one of the most exciting in years, with Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City all in good form and fighting to become champions.
Table toppers Liverpool currently have a two-point advantage over Arsenal and are four points better off than City, although the reigning champions have played one game less.

City could cut the gap to one point if they beat Brentford on Tuesday, putting the pressure on Liverpool before their meeting with Luton Town on Wednesday.
Klopp will of course want his side to pick up maximum points whatever City do, but Luton will certainly not make things easy for his side.
Rob Edwards' side may be 18th in the table and fighting relegation, but the Premier League newcomers have put in some seriously impressive performances in recent weeks.

Last month Luton beat Brighton 3-0 at Kenilworth Road, and they really ought to have beaten Newcastle at St James' Park but drew 4-4 after leading 4-2.
One of the Hatters' key players in recent weeks has been midfielder Albert Sambi Lakonga.
After barely featuring during the first four months of the campaign, the 24-year-old Belgium international has started eight of his side's last nine league outings.

Lokonga joined Luton on a season-long loan from Arsenal last summer, and his recent performances have suggested he could have a future at the Emirates Stadium.
Jurgen Klopp seems to think he does anyway. During a press conference on Tuesday, Klopp admitted his surprise that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta allowed the midfielder to leave the club for the season.
"Lokonga, when you see him playing and you think: 'oh... he's an Arsenal player and they loaned him... interesting!" Klopp said.
If Lokonga helps Luton win at Anfield on Wednesday, then he might give an unlikely helping hand to his parent club's title bid.
