The Arsenal talisman and England wide-man is having another impressive season, having netted 20 goals and registered a further 14 assists in all competitions as the Gunners look to claim their first Premier League title in two decades.

But in a busy season where Mikel Arteta’s men are competing for silverware domestically, Saka made time to take part in LADbible TV’s much-loved YouTube game Snack Wars, where stars are asked to taste two foods of different origins and rate which they prefer.

Saka was offered a range of foods from England, his country of birth, and Nigeria, the country his parents are from, with the West African nation coming out on top.

First, Saka was asked to choose a favourite between Jollof Rice, a rice dish packed with tomatoes, chillies onions and spices, and cauliflower cheese, which is, well, cauliflower cooked in cheese.

It was an easy win for the Nigerian dish with Saka gleefully consuming the rice, moments after having been repulsed by the cauliflower.

The second selection between Scotch Eggs and Moi Moi was again, an easy win for Nigeria.

Saka enjoyed the Nigerian option, a boiled bean pudding packed with onions, peppers, spices and fish, but, crucially, insisted his mum’s iteration of the dish was even better.

Meanwhile, after cutting open Moi Moi’s English competition, the Scotch Egg, Saka categorically refused to eat the dish.

With Nigeria leading 2-0, Saka was subsequently asked to choose between Milo, a chocolaty drink made from malted barley that is popular across Africa, and a Twix chocolate bar.

Twix came out on top, with Saka explaining that the chocolate bar was the perfect amalgamation of biscuits and chocolate. Ever the professional, however, Saka didn’t finish the Twix, explaining that he had “a game in two days”.

Next up was a choice between plantain chips from Nigeria and a pack of Twiglets. Branding the latter as “tasteless”, Saka opted for the plantain chips, even taking the Nigerian snack home with him.

The final choice was between a pack of Love Hearts, the tablet-shaped English confectionary famous for featuring a short, love-related message on one side, and Nigerian menthol sweet Tom Tom.

Saka spat out the Tom Toms, rendering the Love Hearts the winner. You can watch Saka’s appearance on Snack Wars here.
