What Bukayo Saka said in four-word message to Sky Sports reporter at Arsenal training ground speaks volumes

What Bukayo Saka said in four-word message to Sky Sports reporter at Arsenal training ground speaks volumes

Bukayo Saka had a message for a Sky Sports reporter on deadline day.

Bukayo Saka had a four-word message to a Sky Sports reporter at Arsenal's training ground amid speculation over transfers on deadline day.

Arsenal have snapped up David Raya, who enjoyed a loan spell last season, Riccardo Calafiori, and, more recently, Mikel Merino.

The Gunners are thought to be still in the market for new talent, with Raheem Sterling and Kingsley Coman linked with a move to the Emirates.

But their reported pursuit of Sterling and Coman hasn't accelerated ahead of tonight's transfer deadline.

Not even Arsenal players know what's happening as Saka delivered a four-word message to Sky Sports' Gary Cotterill outside the club's training ground.

"Not even the Arsenal players know whether or not Raheem Sterling is coming," Cotterill said on Sky Sports News.

"About half an hour ago, Bukayo Saka drove past us, wind down his window, popped his head out & said, 'Who are we signing?!'"

Arsenal have started the season with back-to-back victories in their opening two games, having beaten Wolves and Aston Villa.

And speaking ahead of hosting Brighton on Saturday, Mikel Arteta insists he's satisfied with the depth of his squad despite not bringing in any attacking players during the summer transfer window.

"We know about the depth of the squad and it’s something that we cannot change dramatically in one or two seasons," he explained.

"It’s something that we are constantly trying to build the numbers, which is something critical, and on top of that bring more quality.

"We are trying to bring some quality from our academy, that looks like it’s happening and that’s going to be very, very helpful, and trust the players that we have and do the maximum that we can with the squad.

"One of the biggest strengths that we have over the past two or three years has been the way we’ve shared the goals.

"We are going to have to continue to do that. If we can on top of that get players to score 25 or 30 goals in the season, then it’s the perfect combination. That’s what we are trying to do."
