Aaron Ramsdale could return to the Arsenal starting XI against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
Despite starting the season as Arsenal’s no.1, Ramsdale was dropped for the Gunners’ last two fixtures against Everton and PSV Eindhoven.
Summer signing David Raya, who joined Arsenal on a season-long loan from Brentford was given the nod ahead of the Englishman, the Spanish goalkeeper went on to record two cleansheets against Everton in the Premier League and PSV in the Champions League.
Ahead of the North London Derby against Spurs on Sunday, Mikel Arteta was asked whether he has made a decision on his goalkeeper.

The Arsenal boss said: “No I haven’t decided.”
When asked how hard it was to drop Ramsdale, Arteta said: "Yes it is hard. But with other players it’s the same. He’s an exceptional character. We know his charisma and the aura around him. It happens with many other players. You saw it with Emile as well the other night. It sends a message that we really like him."
A lot have been made about Arteta's sudden decision to change his goalkeeper, with many fearing for Ramsdale's game time for the rest of the season.

However, when explaining his decision on Sunday before the Everton match, Arteta said: “I think I mentioned it that we wanted to build a squad with two quality players in each position, with different characteristics, and we have got that now.
“And to maximise that they have to play games, and we have a lot of things coming up now. And we have the same with other players we have rotated and there will be a lot of game-time in the next few weeks.”
