Real Madrid send ominous 16-word message to Arsenal seconds after Champions League game ends

Real Madrid have a massive mountain to climb at the Bernabeu next week.

Real Madrid have sent a stern 16-word warning to Arsenal after their Champions League defeat at the Emirates Stadium.

Los Blancos were battered on Tuesday night as they fell to a heavy defeat against Arsenal in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.

Two stunning free kicks from Declan Rice plus a Mikel Merino goal sealed a 3-0 win for the hosts.

Mikel Arteta's men will now have a massive advantage to protect when the second leg takes place at the Bernabeu next Wednesday night.

While some fans are beginning to think about a semi-final clash against either Paris Saint Germain or Aston Villa, Madrid are not going to give up just yet.

As reported by Madrid Zone on social media, the club's channel RMTV said after the match: "90 minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu is a very long time. It's time to remember that."

In previous years, we have seen Madrid overturn deficits in the Champions League but they will need an almighty performance if they are to send Arsenal packing.

Speaking immediately after the match, Madrid star Lucas Vazquez said: "This team deserves everyone's trust and faith.

We're not used to losing two games in a row. All we have to do is work hard and believe in ourselves more than ever."

Meanwhile, fellow defender Raul Asencio issued a rallying cry, he declared: "We are absolutely convinced we can make a comeback. If there's any team that can do it, it's us. We need the Bernabéu next week."

During his post-match press conference, Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti did not mince his words.

The Italian stated: "We made many comebacks, we have to do it again. We must look forward.

"Tonight, we lacked football. We have to do everything possible in the second leg from the first minute to the last."

Madrid are back in La Liga action this weekend when they take on Alaves on Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile, Arsenal will look to cut their gap to Liverpool to just eight points by beating Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday.
