As well as incomings, the club are set to trim their squad to make way for new signings, having ruthlessly axed two players this summer.
Another player who seems destined to be on the chopping block is Nuno Tavares, who has spent the last two seasons away from Arsenal.
He enjoyed a loan spell at Marseille in the 2022/23 season, making 39 appearances in all competitions - scoring six goals.

Ahead of the new campaign, Ajax are considering a move for the left-back, having returned to his parent club following his loan spell at Forest, according to Sky Sports.
Tavares joined Arsenal from Benfica in the summer of 2021 on a long-term contract in a deal worth around £8 million.

He played 28 games for the club in the 2021/22 season before being shipped out on loan after 'annoying' Arteta.
The Gunners manager and his staff were 'often annoyed with his behaviour'.
Arteta is thought to be looking to seal the defender's move away from the Emirates, with Ajax a possible destination ahead of the new season.
