Alan Shearer had a lot of praise for Benjamin Sesko after Slovenia's Euros exit and has said it is only a matter of time before he comes to the Premier League.
Sesko was knocked out of the 2024 European Championship on Monday night as Portugal defeated Slovenia in a penalty shootout.
Despite hanging on to a 0-0 draw through 120 minutes, Slovenia fell apart in the penalty shootout as Portugal goalkeeper Diogo Costa saved all three of their attempts, meaning his side progressed to the quarterfinals.

And just moments before the whistle was blown to signal the end of extra time, Slovenian striker Sesko had their best opportunity of the match as a mistake from Pepe gave him a one-on-one change with Costa.
Unfortunately for Sesko, Costa denied the Slovenian and took the game to penalties.
Despite this former England striker Alan Sharer has praised the striker, saying that he expects to see him in the Premier League in the near future.

Speaking on The Rest is Football, Shearer said: “He was feeding off scraps a lot of the time but I think he will be a really really good striker, I’ve no doubt about that. A lot of the big boys were after Sesko weren’t they?
“He’s signed a new deal with Leipzig, but I don’t think it will be long before we see him in the Premier League.”
Sesko failed to score in Slovenia’s four Euro 2024 matches, but played a key role in the side’s unlikely progression to the round of 16 after finishing third in Group C following a 0-0 draw with England.
And Gary Lineker echoed his co-hosts thoughts on the forward, detailing what he could have done better in the match against Portugal.

“He made the one mistake there, when you’re one on one with the goalkeeper what you’ve got to do is try and make the goalkeeper commit first and he most certainly didn’t do that on that particular occasion,” added Lineker.
“But he’s a young striker and I think he showed a lot of potential.”
Sesko had been linked with a Premier League move to Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea this summer.

Instead, the 21-year-old penned a new contract with current club RB Leipzig, keeping him at the German club until 2029.
