Real Madrid have shared incredible drone footage of the new look Bernabeu, as well as the fascinating pitch removal feature at the ground, which can been in the video below.

Back in 2020 work began to start renovating Real's iconic Bernabeu stadium, which meant they had to stop playing at the ground for well over a year.

They moved to the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, home of their women and second teams, for a period, which coincided with fans not being in grounds during Covid.

It was a move that didn't go down well with Jurgen Klopp when his Liverpool side lost in the Champions League in April 2021, claiming he was looking forward to playing in a 'proper stadium' in the second leg.

Real returned to their usual home last season, although it was not yet at full capacity, and they went on to win Europe's number one competition, so perhaps they also wanted to play in a proper stadium too.

This season they asked La Liga to let them play their first three games of the season away from home as work continued and it looks pretty glorious.

The club shared a drone video of how the stadium is looking and so far it's already undergone and incredible transformation.

The stadium in its current look will get a first run out when Los Blancos take on Real Betis on Saturday afternoon, but there's still plenty to be done.

Real will continue to play in front of around 60,000 for the remainder of this season but they're hoping everything will be sorted next summer.

That means they'll return to capacity for the 2023/24 season, with around 4,000 extra seats taking them close to the 85,000 capacity mark.

All the new changes will allow the club to host events other than just football, with the video showing the potential for sports such as tennis and basketball to be held there.

Playing away from home at the beginning of the season hasn't hindered Carlo Ancelotti's side in any way, having won three games from three.

Even the fans at away grounds have been on their side, with Celta Vigo supporters giving Luka Modric a standing ovation for his excellent performance against their team.

The new and improved Bernabeu will be a stadium fit for the kind of football royalty that Modric and his teammates certainly are.
