Outgoing Ajax boss Erik ten Hag has started to sink his teeth into what is going to be a monumental project as he prepares to start work as the new Manchester United manager.
The 52 year-old said that he is to miss the Dutch champions’ end of season trip to Curacao as he wants to start preparing for his tenure at United.
After his Ajax side rounded off the season with a 2-2 draw against Vitesse, ten Hag gave his thoughts about his upcoming move to England. “There’s a lot of work that still needs to be done, I think that’s understandable," he said.

"This applies to every new club. A number of things still need to be organised with the staff and also with the squad. We will be working intensively on that from [Monday].”
Ten Hag enjoyed a decent season domestically, having led Ajax to the Eredivisie title, finishing two points ahead of second placed PSV.
The Dutchman will know the task facing him at Old Trafford will be a tough one, after Ralf Rangnick’s side produced yet another disappointing season, with Europa League place under threat.

United fans are looking forward to the new era under ten Hag and fans have wasted no time in creating a chant for their new manager after the news of his appointment broke.
The chant quickly went viral, but not because it’s a good chant. In fact, it's the polar oppisote.
It went: “One Hag, Two Hag, Three Hag, Four Hag, Five Hag, Six Hag, Seven Hag, Eight Hag, Nine Hag, Ten Hag… Ten Hag, Ten Hag, Ten Hag, Ten Hag!”
It was quickly branded as one of the worst chants of all time and it is hard to disagree. When appearing on Dutch television, ten Hag was shown the video of the United fans singing the chant, and ten Hag’s reaction was priceless, almost like he doesn’t know what to say about it as he gave no emotion.
United fans now have the off season to come up with a better effort for their new manager as the club's awful season is near its end.
