Erik ten Hag is reportedly starting to get ‘frustrated’ behind the scenes at the slow progress regarding transfers.
So far in the summer transfer window, Manchester United have signed Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez. But after Sunday’s shock 2-1 defeat against Brighton at Old Trafford, it is clear United are in desperate need for more quality.
This week, United have been linked with Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot and Bologna forward Marko Arnautovic.

A deal has since been agreed between United and the Turin club for Rabiot.
United now have to discuss personal terms with the midfielder’s mother, Veronique.
It is believed that she will not deal with intermediaries and will only talk to the club’s director of football, John Murtough.

However, a deal for Arnautovic isn’t as straight forward.
It has been reported that the United board are unsure about signing the 33-year-old Austrian international whilst Ten Hag 100% wants him at the club. Arnautovic worked with Ten Hag during the pair’s spell at FC Twente in the Netherlands.
According to The Telegraph, Ten Hag is beginning to get ‘frustrated’ that his top attacking target, Antony, seems out of reach for the Old Trafford club.

After losing the likes of Sebastien Haller and Ryan Gravenberch this summer, Ajax have said that they want a huge fee in order to part ways with Antony.
United are also linked with another midfielder, in the shape of Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic Savic, the Serbian is potentially an alternative to long term target, Frenkie de Jong of Barcelona.
The Old Trafford have been chasing De Jong’s signature since the start of the transfer window but have so far failed to persuade the 25-year-old to make the move.

Despite a deal between agreed between United and Barcelona for the Dutch midfielder, the player himself is set to be settled in Catalonia after previously describing playing for the La Liga giants as his ‘dream’.
Barcelona are desperate to offload the player in a bid to ease the club’s financial troubles. However, they are yet to pay deferred wages worth £14 million to De Jong.
It is going to be a busy end to the transfer window for United and it remains to be seen whether the club will be able to sign Ten Hag’s top targets.

Next up in the Premier League for Ten Hag’s men will be an away match against Brentford this weekend.
