Louis Tomlinson comes up with genius move at Glastonbury so fans could watch England vs Slovakia

A brilliant gesture from the singer and songwriter.

One Direction star Louis Tomlinson came up with a genius way of ensuring that England fans at Glastonbury could watch the 2-1 win over Slovakia at Euro 2024.

For 94 minutes, those same England fans were watching their team head out of the tournament, with Gareth Southgate's side failing to have a single shot on target.

It took a moment of magic from Jude Bellingham - a stunning overhead kick - to keep the Three Lions in Euro 2024, but it appeared in the moments prior that they may have been out of ideas.

The equaliser seemed to leave Slovakia deflated and they conceded again on the opposite side of full-time through Harry Kane's header, although they did rally in the second half of extra time.

For England supporters everywhere, there was a sigh of relief when extra time was completed, with Southgate's side just doing enough to ensure they are in the quarter-finals.

But for supporters at Glastonbury, there was initial disappointment when they were told that big screens would not be showing the match at the venue.

Step forward Tomlinson - a lifelong Doncaster Rovers fan and, briefly, a former registered player for the club.

The 32-year-old brought in a flatscreen TV to allow fans to gather round and watch the England game, with some brilliant scenes captured at the end of extra time.

You can see the clip below.

Speaking to BBC reporter Katie Razzall, Tomlinson explained how he managed to get the TV in and ensure it actually got a signal: "It was a little... well, we brought a TV in. very Glasto, in some stones and a little stand.

"It was a little bit touch and go at times, because the signal kept going in and out.

"Yeah, luckily we got the win. We pulled it off. Made up, made up."

England will now be preparing to take on Switzerland in the Euro 2024 quarter-final, which takes place on Saturday at 5pm in Dusseldorf.
