The Germany international has been outstanding at this summer's European Championship.

Bayern Munich and Germany midfielder Jamal Musiala has identified his three favourite young players in world football.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder continues to make his mark for club and country. After recording 12 goals and eight assists in 38 games with Bayern last season, Musiala has been a standout performer for Germany this summer.

In fact, he became the youngest player to score in a nation's first two group stage games at a European Championship after netting in wins over Scotland and Hungary.

After the game against Hungary on Wednesday, Musiala spoke to ESPN about a range of subjects, including his favourite young players in world football – Jude Bellingham, Pedri and Bukayo Saka.

"Lots of young players are doing very well now," he said. "Of course, you have Jude, who is doing amazing right now at Real Madrid. You have Pedri, who I think is an amazing player."

Musiala added: "There are so many. Saka from Arsenal. There's probably names that are not coming up in my head right now but you see them all doing well, and it's good."

Musiala, who joined Bayern from Chelsea in 2019, forged a close friendship with Bellingham during his time with the England youth team.

“They were fabulous years in England. Jude and I always understood each other well on the field, and we played good football,” Musiala told MARCA earlier this year. “Besides, we were roommates and we always had a great relationship.

“I think Jude always had a great mentality as a player. He trusts a lot in himself and does not escape great challenges, so I was not surprised to see him like this in Madrid.

"Of course, his start is not normal for a debutant, as these things always requires a certain patience, but it is something that honestly has not surprised me too much. I have known Jude’s mentality since he was little.”

Musiala added: “He is a boy with a very good heart and has always had a lot of affection for his fans. It’s important to show that respect, and I think we’ve both maintained that pretty well over the years.”
