Gareth Southgate was asked whether Mason Greenwood can continue his England career under his management after naming his latest Three Lions squad on Thursday.
Southgate named his 26-man squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifier against Ukraine and international friendly against Scotland.
In the subsequent press conference at St. George's Park, the Three Lions boss was quizzed about his selections of Harry Maguire and Kalvin Phillips due to their lack of football, and the inclusion of Jordan Henderson after his move to Al Ettifaq.

But there was also a question on Greenwood, who will leave United by mutual consent after the club concluded an internal investigation into his behaviour. Watch the video below.
The forward was arrested in January 2022 on suspicion of rape and assault. He was charged with attempted rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in October.
The charges were discontinued in February of this year, with the CPS stating that a combination of the withdrawal of key witnesses and new material that came to light meant that there was 'no longer a realistic prospect of conviction'.

Greenwood has been suspended by United since his arrest in January 2022. He has not played for England since September 2020, after which he was sent home along with Phil Foden after breaking COVID-19 guidelines in Iceland.
Now, Southgate has had his say on the forward.
Gareth Southgate on Mason Greenwood
The England manager explained: "It's clearly a very complex case and at the moment, he isn't playing football, so it isn't a consideration for us.

"It's hypothetical [whether he could play again for England]. I think it's a topic that whatever I say, I could give you a nuanced answer, but it will be used in a less nuanced fashion, frankly."
At club level, Greenwood could make a loan move to Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas.
That is according to i, who report that Besiktas are considering the possibility of signing the 21-year-old, and would need to gain the consent of their women's team before a move can be completed.
