She would come up against many of her new teammates in the final of the tournament, with England beating Germany 2-1 at Wembley to secure their first major trophy in international football.
The song 'Sweet Caroline', became the unofficial anthem of English football during the tournament, and was played at Wembley after the final.
After joining up with her new teammates in Germany this week, Stanway wasted no time in reminding them of their defeat by choosing the Neil Diamond track as her initiation song.

In a clip circulating on social media, Stanway is seen stood on a chair belting out the song.
Thankfully, her new teammates appeared to take the joke well, with most of them clapping and singing along with Stanway's rendition.
Bayern sportingly posted the clip to their official Twitter account, alongside the caption: "New #FCBayern players have to sing, so Georgia Stanway picked Sweet Caroline… that's brave."
Explaining her decision to move to Bayern, Stanway said in May: "It just feels right.

"I can't wait to get started and play for such a well-known club.
"It felt right from the very first conversation. I was absolutely convinced and my instinct told me I belonged here.

"The club is so amazing - the research they did on me, the way the club presented themselves to me and how they can take my game to the next level. Bayern has very big ambitions and I really admire that."
Judging by the initiation video, she looks to have immediately settled at her new club.
