Considering his time on the sidelines, the 18-year-old celebrated passionately in front of the Kop.

His moment of magic prompted a tear-jerking reaction from his old man who broke down in tears as he watched on the from the main stand.

Twitter user Saad Wadia captured the wholesome moment.

Elliott was playing his first game for Liverpool since September and speaking after his successful return, he thanked everyone connected to the club and insists the injury is 'behind' him ahead of the rest of the season.

"It's still hard to put into words at the moment," he told ITV. "This is what I'm in the team to do, to score and assist.

"Thankfully it came today in front of the crowd and the fans after having a long time out.

"It's my job at the end of the day so I've just got to keep doing it. It's a moment that myself and my family will remember."

Elliott added: "One man most importantly was Joe Lewis at Liverpool, one of the physios, he took me in the early hours of the morning and didn't finish until late at night.

"He got me back strong again and like I said, the list can go on, big shout out to all my family and friends as well, especially my mum and dad, they helped and supported me throughout.

"Just a massive thank you to everyone at Liverpool, the fans as well for the support and love when it happened but I'm back now and the injury is behind me."
