Ralf Rangnick's time as interim Manchester United manager is over, with the Premier League season over, and things really weren't good behind the scenes.
United brought Rangnick in back in December, in the wake of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's sacking following the 4-1 loss to Watford, in a vain attempt to save their season.

The former RB Leipzig boss didn't manage to steady the ship and take them into the top four, as would have been the minimum requirement of the season, and finished in sixth place.
Rangnick also failed in cup competitions as the team were knocked out of the FA Cup in the fourth round by Middlesbrough and losing to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last 16.
All around things have not been good at United the whole campaign, with plenty of leaks and stories of behind the scenes unrest, and new details show how bad it all was.
A report by the Manchester Evening News has opened up on all the goings on and it won't make for enjoyable reading for United fans, although rival fans will no doubt revel in it.

The squad is described as a "toxic mix of backbiting and spitefulness," which backs up Paul Scholes' claim that Jesse Lingard told him the dressing room was a 'disaster.'
Lingard and Marcus Rashford, whose form took a huge nosedive this season and struggled to get into the first team in the second half of the season, are said to have "received 'no instructions, no game plan, no position plan."
Those close to one player are said to have referred to the interim boss disparagingly as 'specs,' which scans with the fact that players reportedly gave American coach Chris Armas the nickname 'Ted Lasso.'

Nicknames and borderline bullying of coaches is more proof of the player power that exists at Old Trafford, something that might have come into Juan Mata's comments about the culture of the club needing a 'reset.'
That player power was even on view before Solskjaer was sacked, with Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly approached about the prospect of firing the Norwegian and getting Antonio Conte in.
Whilst Gary Neville didn't want Conte at the club either, the Italian has taken Tottenham Hotspur into the Champions League next season, after taking over when Spurs were in a worse position than United.

A player is said to have claimed the interim manager talked to him like a 'child' leading to him 'not giving a s***e' about what the 63-year-old had to say.
Overall the picture is that players 'weren't having' the manager's methods and it really showed on the pitch, as the season limped to a finish.
David de Gea summed it up best on Sunday when he said "The best thing that happened today is the season has finished."

Erik ten Hag will have a hell of a job on his hands to turn things around and first up might be ending the infighting, bitching and general bad vibes in the dressing room.
