Arsenal and Manchester United have been told of an 'extreme' Declan Rice transfer demand that will make it difficult to secure a deal for the West Ham midfielder this summer.

The 24-year-old gave both clubs a reminder of his potential value to them by producing a star-studded display against United in a 1-0 win on Sunday.

Rice won the player of the match award, with the result likely to keep the Hammers in the Premier League for next season.

With David Moyes' side in the semi-final of the Europa Conference League, West Ham can now finish the season on a high, and will qualify for next season's Europa League should they achieve continental success this term.

Regardless, however, keeping Rice will surely be a tricky task for the club. The Daily Mail claim that Rice remains Arsenal's priority target for the summer, with Chelsea and United among the other clubs linked.

Rice spent time in Chelsea's youth system before joining West Ham, where he eventually graduated and developed into a key member of the first team squad.

But any teams interested in buying him will have to heed a clear warning sent by Moyes after Sunday's win over United.

Arsenal, Man Utd learn 'extreme' Rice demand

Speaking after the game, Moyes was asked about Rice's performance in the game - and addressed his future.

He said (quotes via football.london): "Again, he was outstanding tonight but I thought we had some really big performers. No surprising me, he has got a great talent of regaining the ball.

"You've seen him play for England, you've seen the abilities he uses in recovering the ball and getting around people. He's great across the ground, very quick. I'm pleased, but not surprised."

When questioned about the interest from other clubs and whether he was worried about it, Moyes responded: "Yes, that's why he is probably the best English midfield player around, and that is why he is going to be extremely expensive if anybody comes calling."

The current transfer record for an English player stands at the £100 million Manchester City paid to sign Jack Grealish in 2021 - although that soon be usurped if Real Madrid complete a deal for Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham.

A potential fee for Rice could certainly eclipse the amount paid for Grealish, meaning Arsenal and United will need to find the cash or move on to other targets.
