If the move comes to fruition, then it'll come as a bombshell transfer considering Ronaldo's legendary spell at arch-rivals Real Madrid.
Ronaldo scored 450 goals during his ultra-prolific time at the club and beat Atleti in not one but TWO Champions League finals, making him a hated figure in the red and white side of Madrid.
But he now could be about to call the Metropolitano Stadium home in a sensational turn of events.

The reported move to Atleti comes after Ronaldo had been linked with a stunning transfer back to Sporting CP.
But the five-time Ballon d'Or winner shut down rumours linking him with his hometown club, branding the report as 'fake' on social media.
Ronaldo still has another year to run on his current contract, but is yet to report for pre-season training.
He's absent from the club's tour of Australia as he figures out of the next move of his legendary career.
