Viral Twitter thread from fan shows Cristiano Ronaldo moments 'that the media don't want you to see'

A Twitter thread of Cristiano Ronaldo moments made by a fan has gone viral that includes moments of selflessness throughout his career.

A Twitter thread made by a fan showcasing moments from Cristiano Ronaldo's career has gone viral.

The thread goes some way to dispelling the narrative that has been pushed from the media over the years that Ronaldo is a selfish player and person.

That is particularly forthcoming following recent events which saw him refuse to come on against Tottenham during the 2-0 win in the Premier League.

The thread titled: 'Some videos/stories of Cristiano Ronaldo's the media doesn't want you to see' from @UTD_DELTA has over 23,000 likes and includes moments of kindness and humility from the player across his career that help to showcase another side of the global superstar.

Across his incredibly successful career, of course there have been moments of arrogance and dramatic outbursts, such as the incident against Spurs, but it certainly doesn't define the Portuguese star as a person.

In fact, back in 2015, it was announced that he topped the list of the most 20 charitable athletes in the world.

He also payed $165,000 to fund a Portuguese cancer center, as well as pay for a child's brain surgery which cost up to $83,000.

Included in the thread is a video from 2019 where he stopped the team bus whilst on international duty to take a picture with an 11-year-old suffering from a blood cancer in a particularly heart-warming moment.

Another is when he posted a message congratulating Mohamed Salah on winning the Puskas goal during the 2017/18 season for his solo strike against Everton.

However, Ronaldo had scored one of the goals of his career against Juventus with a famous overhead kick in the Champions League that was certainly a much more worthy winner of the award.

He took the time to say 'Salah deserved, it was a good goal' before then congratulating Luka Modric on his famous Ballon d'Or win in the same year.

It has to be stated that he does a lot of charitable work off the pitch with a section dedicated to philanthropy on his Wikipedia page that includes ambassador roles as well as millions donated but there's probably also a lot more that we don't know about as well.

We can all certainly respect that.
