Wayne Rooney has doubled down on an opinion that is likely to annoy former Manchester United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, not for the first time.
Last month, Rooney seemed to be caught in the crosshairs of the interview that Ronaldo gave, which inevitably led to his departure from United.
Rooney had said previously that he felt United should have let the forward leave in the summer, when he'd asked the club to sell him.

The former England captain said it would be tough for his former colleague to be sat on the bench but did call him one of the greatest players ever.
All of the things Rooney said clearly weren't construed as anything but criticisms by Ronaldo and the man who did the explosive interview.
There were suggestions that the DC United manager was 'jealous' that he was no longer playing, whilst the Portugal star's career carried on.

The five time Ballon d'Or winner also called his former teammate a 'rat,' after the man asking the questions had claimed if the former Everton player could 'hate Ronaldo more.'
Well Ronaldo could certainly hate Rooney more, especially now the Englishman has doubled down on Lionel Messi being the greatest of all time.
England's joint all time top scorer quote tweeted his own 10 year-old tweet to back his stance from March 2012, in the wake of the World Cup semi-final.
Messi didn't have to be at his absolute best throughout the 90 minutes, as Argentina defeated Croatia, even carrying an injury from early in the first half.

However he still managed to have a huge impact on the game, making his mark on the opening goal, a penalty after Julian Alvarez was fouled.
The spot kick was one of the most perfect you're likely to see, especially when it hasn't always been Messi's area of expertise down the years.
It was the third goal of the game however where he made his most magical impression on the game, twisting Josko Gvaridol in half.
Having beaten the RB Leipzig defender, who has rightly earned lots of plaudits for his performances in Qatar, he threaded the ball to Alvarez to score his second of the game.

That's the moment that is likely to have caused Rooney, and plenty of others, to take to social media to once again post their love for the star.
It was his third goal in three knockout games in the Middle East, having never scored in a World Cup past the group stages before.
However, it's not enough for some people to agree that he's the greatest of all time, with Ronaldo's number one cheerleader once again doubling down himself, on who he thinks holds that title.

At this point you have to seriously question anyone who isn't picking Messi ahead of his 'rival.'
