Stevenage aimed a brutal tweet at Philippe Coutinho on social media during their FA Cup clash against Aston Villa.

The League Two outfit stunned the Premier League side as they came from one-goal down to win 2-1 at Villa Park on Sunday.

Jamie Reid converted a penalty two minutes from time to cancel out Morgan Sanson's opener in the 33rd minute.

Dean Campbell then fired a low strike into the back of the net in the 90th minute to secure a big win and a huge upset.

But even when Stevenage were trailing Villa, they were full of confidence as they savagely mocked Coutinho, who started the cup fixture.

However, he was taken off by Unai Emery in the 66th minute, with Stevenage mocking his departure off the pitch.

"Philippe Coutinho comes off. The substitution took longer than usual as they had to dig him out of Luther James-Wildin's back pocket," they wrote on Twitter.

Following Coutinho's substitution, the Hertfordshire-based team turned things around as they book their spot in the FA Cup fourth round.

Just like the club's Twitter admin, Stevenage boss Steve Evans pulled no punches as he accused Emery's outfit of running scared.

"We wanted to make Villa work as hard as they would against Arsenal, Manchester City or Manchester United and maybe some of them forgot to do that late on, though some of them haven’t played 90 minutes very often," he said after the result.

"There was probably a bit of fear. We equalised with 88 minutes on the clock. We went to three up front and had a couple of attacks that didn’t come to anything.

"When you watch back the corner that led to the goal, you see nearly all the Villa players are inside the six-yard box. It’s that fear factor, players thinking they might go out of the FA Cup to a League Two side, which is not what this club is about."
