Chelsea's summer took a surprising turn on Tuesday when they announced an agreement to sign Carney Chukwuemeka, and a compilation of the player shows why they wanted him.

The highly rated Aston Villa youngster has been rumoured to be interesting some of Europe's biggest clubs all summer, with Liverpool and Barcelona both linked with him.

Chukwuemeka didn't go on Villa's pre season tour to Australia, with the 18-year-old having not signed the club's next contract extension.

Now it looks like he'll be in Chelsea's development squad next season, after the club announced that he was travelling to London for a medical and to discuss personal terms.

Most people wouldn't have seen the England under 19 star play, although he was impressive at the U19 European Championship earlier this year, but they'll understand the hype soon enough.

A video compilation of all his highlights proves exactly why he was so coveted around Europe, and why Thomas Tuchel's team have snatched him up.

"I watched this guy make his debut last year, against Spurs I think, and he was electric as soon as he came on the pitch. Hit the post if I'm correct. Fantastic signing for us," one Chelsea fan commented.

"He's an absolute baller. Has so much skill," another fan stated.

One Villa fan pointed out he's one for the future, saying, "Being a Villa fan and watching Carney a lot. He is not ready for the first team yet but the kid has a massive future. His first touch can let him down at times but his dribbling is exceptional."

Another excited fan said, "So damn young but So. Much. POTENTIAL. Great signing for Chelsea. He can develop into something special."

But not everyone is so excited, with one Blues fan adding, "Can't believe we've spent 20 mil on a guy who's highlight reel is a bunch of misses."

Thomas Tuchel's summer has largely seen him miss out on transfer targets, usually to Barcelona, but they've still signed Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly.

They could still add more names to their squad ahead of the transfer window closing, with Wesley Fofana the latest defender linked to them.

Frenkie de Jong could also end up in west London, following several months of trying his best not to be made to go to Manchester United.
