Fans have ruthlessly hit out at Chelsea's 'embarrassing' chant following their goal against Leeds United on Saturday.

The Blues earned a much-needed win over Leeds as Wesley Fofana scored the only of the game after heading home just after the break.

Fofana's goal was the club's first since their 1-1 draw against West Ham United, having fired blank versus Borussia Dortmund, Southampton and Tottenham.

And fans celebrated the defender's header by coming up with a chant that hasn't gone down well with people on social media.

The Stamford Bridge faithful chanted: "We've scored a goal, we've scored a goal, we've scored a goal."

The chant has not been well received by many fans online.

One Twitter user wrote: "This is honestly embarrassing and funny."

A second tweeted: "Some embarrassing fans in this club. Shameful."

A third added: "These type of people are a massive problem at Chelsea."

Chelsea's win over Leeds was their first league victory since January 15, when they beat Crystal Palace.

And the crucial win eases the pressure on under-fore coach Graham Potter, who was 'delighted' with the three points.

"We're delighted with the win. We've had a tough period. I'm delighted for the players and supporters, who have had to suffer. It was pleasing to get the win," he said.

"We started the game well and created some opportunities. Playing against Leeds is always tough, they've got a high intensity. "We got the goal which was a pleasing moment for us all and then we've got something to lose in the second half which is where you'd expect us to be given the run we've had.

"It's really good for the players to keep a clean sheet, win a game and have that feeling. It's nice."

Chelsea currently occupy 10th place in the table and return to action in the Champions League when they face Dortmund.
