Lionel Messi was reportedly offered a last-ditch big-money deal ahead of his proposed transfer to MLS side Inter Miami.
In recent weeks, Messi’s future with Paris Saint Germain has been the talk of the town after it was widely reported that he will not be extending his stay at the Parc des Princes.
Last week, it was confirmed that the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner will depart the French club at the end of the month.
Since the news of his exit, Messi has been linked with a big-money move to the Middle East with Saudi Professional League club Al Hilal thought to be interested.

Messi was also linked with a sensational return to Barcelona, two years after leaving the Camp Nou for Paris.
On Wednesday afternoon, it was reported that Messi has decided to sign for MLS club Inter Miami, who are owned by former Manchester United and England midfielder David Beckham.
However, it has been reported that Al Hilal made one last-ditch attempt to lure Messi away from the MLS.
According to COPE journalist Helena Condis, the Saudi Professional League club made the Argentina legend an offer of €1.3 Billion for 3 years, which is roughly €500M per year.

In addition, it was reported that Al Hilal 'went crazy' when they heard that Messi had decided to join Inter Miami.
According to CBS Sports, Al Hilal even had private jets ready in Paris for Messi and in Barcelona for his father Jorge. All in anticipation to jet them off to Riyadh to seal the deal.

It has been reported that Messi could have picked his own club and his own teammates if he was to commit his future to Saudi Arabia.
Ultimately, it seems like the efforts from Saudi Arabia will not be successful as he looks set to move to Miami.
