Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is set to be handed a huge £1.4 million fine.
The 36-year-old is currently sidelined after suffering a broken leg whilst on a skiing holiday after Germany were dumped out of the 2022 Qatar World Cup in the group stage.
However, Neuer has been making the headlines due to the recent sacking of Bayern’s goalkeeping coach Toni Tapalovic.

Neuer and Tapalovic are close friends after playing with each other during their time at Schalke. On the back of Tapalovic’s sacking, Neuer did an interview which did not impress the club.
The goalkeeper said: “For me, that was a blow — when I was already down on the ground [with his injury]. I felt like my heart was being ripped out.
“It was the most brutal thing I've experienced in my career. And I've experienced a lot.”

According to Spanish media outlet AS, Neuer is set to be handed a huge fine of £1.4 million for his response to the club’s decision to part ways with Tapalovic.
It was reported that a number of the club’s senior figures were left angered by Neuer’s actions.
The timing of the interview was also criticised, especially when Bayern are currently in a run of disappointing form in the race for the Bundesliga title.

Bayern CEO and former goalkeeper Oliver Kahn said: “What Manuel said in parts of these two interviews in connection with Toni Tapalovic's release does neither do justice to him as captain nor to the values of FC Bayern.
“In addition, his statements are untimely because we are facing very important games.”
Whilst club president Herbert Hainer added: “For the club it is incomprehensible and disappointing that Manuel Neuer did not seek direct communication with us, but instead turned to the press.
“I'm more disappointed than angry because I thought that Manuel, who is a great player and who has been here a long time, would discuss those issues with us first.”
