Fans at an MLS football game were left stunned after a female pitch invader was absolutely decked in a tackle from security personnel.
The game between Nashville and Atlanta United was put on pause as wild rain marred the fixture at GEODIS Park.
One overzealous fan took this as an opportunity to make a name for herself as she jumped the fence, dodging a few staff in the process, before copping a rugby tackle for her troubles.

The video, posted by former Bolton Wanderers midfielder Stuart Holden, shows a pair of security guards chasing after the pitch invader before one comes from a different angle to cut her off.
The security guard in question looked to have used some pretty excessive force as he rocked the invader to the ground, as she appeared to hit pretty hard.
Fans could be heard in the video saying ‘you didn’t have to do that’, as they genuinely seem shocked by the events.

The footage sparked debate online about whether the security guard was within his rights to make such a severe tackle.
One user pointed out: “Seems like excessive force given that literally no one is on the pitch.”
While another said: “I know no one wants to encourage pitch invasions but this seems a bit unnecessary, they knock this woman out cold and for what?”

Some, on the other hand, felt the invader got what she deserved.

The woman was spectacularly tackled by a security guard before being escorted off the pitch.
She since admitted that ‘she got what I deserved’, despite the security guard’s tackle also seeming excessive.
In England, there has been an uptake of pitch invasions that have turned violent in recent weeks, as the football season concluded.
