Arsenal target Youri Tielemans is reportedly pricing himself out of a move to the Emirates.

Arsenal are currently leading the Premier League title race after creating an eight-point lead over second-placed Manchester City.

Meanwhile Leicester are currently languishing in the relegation places following a dismal season in the East Midlands.

After picking up just one point in his last seven games, Brendan Rodgers was given his marching orders on Sunday, as the Foxes aim to turn their season around with just nine games left to go.

Should they fail to do so, Leicester are likely to lose the bulk of their best players, with James Maddison, Harvey Barnes and Wilfred Ndidi all likely to depart in the summer.

While Tielemans is thought to be leaving regardless of Leicester's Premier League status, having run down his contract at the King Power Stadium.

However, he may have priced himself out of a move to north London before negotiations could even begin.

The Gunners have a long-standing interest in Tielemans, having regularly tried to sign the 25-year-old in transfer windows gone by.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta is allegedly keen to strengthen his midfield to help cope with a busy European schedule next season, with Champions League football all but sealed.

However, Tielemans may have shot himself in the foot, following reports of his extortionate wage demands.

Arsenal are thought to have held conversations with the Belgium international's representatives over a prospective deal.

Although TEAMtalk claim that he is eager to become one of the highest earners at the Emirates, which has led the club to stick a pin in their pursuit.

While Newcastle are also unwilling to meet the midfielder's demands, indicating that Tielemans may need to leave England in order to reach an agreement - with clubs from Spain and Italy reportedly monitoring his situation.
