Reiss Nelson is “back in the frame” at Arsenal after scoring a brace against Nottingham Forest last weekend, according to Sky Sport’s Dharmesh Sheth.
When Mikel Arteta turned to Nelson over summer signings Fabio Vieira and Marquinhos as a replacement for the injured Bukayo Saka the Arsenal manager’s faith was duly repaid.
Nelson scored two goals in quick succession and provided an assist as Arsenal dismantled the Premier League newbies 5-0 at the Emirates.

The 22-year-old had long been heralded as the great hope of Hale End, but unlike fellow academy graduates Saka and Emile Smith Rowe, Nelson has struggled to take his first-team opportunities.
With a spate of injuries in the Gunners’ front line, Nelson now has an opportunity to establish himself as a key player in the Arsenal 11.
Sky Sports’ transfer guru Sheth told GIVEMESPORT: “He’s back in the frame again.

“And to come on for someone like Saka where the crowd would have been really, really worried about how long Saka is out for, and particularly even for that game, and then to come on and score two goals, I think it would have appeased a lot of people.
“Because I think there is a player in there that Arsenal obviously haven’t seen enough of, and I think whenever he’s been out on loan and played well, a lot of the Arsenal fans have said, ‘let’s give this kid a chance because he’s got something.”
Nelson first showcased his talents on loan at Hoffenheim during the 2018/19 season, where he registered seven goals and one assist in 23 Bundesliga appearances.

However, his form has since stuttered back at Arsenal.
The 22-year-old, whose contract runs out at the end of the current campaign, is hoping he can impress enough to earn new terms with his boyhood club.
The former England Under-21 international told the Athletic: “I only have some months left on my contract. Getting a new deal would be amazing and I would love to commit to the club.
“Any opportunity I get I’m going to try and take and just do my very best and just keep helping the team really.”
