Arsenal are reportedly leading the race to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
The 24-year-old has excelled in La Liga this season, catching the attention of both the Gunners and Barcelona.
Barca boss Xavi is thought to have a long standing interest in the playmaker, making attempts to sign him last summer.

Although Spanish news outlet SPORT claimed in January that the Catalan club informed Zubimendi that they were ending their pursuit, believing him to be out of reach.
Meanwhile Arsenal were reportedly close to landing the Spaniard on transfer deadline day, and were willing to meet his £54million release clause. But the player was keen to stay with Real Sociedad.
Mikel Arteta opted to sign Jorginho from Chelsea instead, as the league leaders eye their first domestic title since 2004.

However, fresh reports suggest that the Gunners are now in 'pole position' for Zubimendi's signature.
Arsenal in 'pole position' to sign Zubimendi
Journalist Eugenio Mateo Serrano told Calciomercato that Zubimendi was keen to play in the Premier League.
When asked about Barcelona's interest, Serrano said: “Xavi needs another player instead of Busquets.

“The number one pick is Martín Zubimendi, from Real Sociedad. But it’s also difficult because Zubimendi wants to play in the Premier League, and for me Arsenal are in pole position.”
Meanwhile, CaughtOffside transfer specialist Ben Jacobs reports that despite signing a new five year contract in October, Zubimendi is pushing for a move away.
He is also said to have refused an increase in his release clause, making him more affordable to the likes of Arteta.
Arsenal are also thought to remain interested in signing West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, with the player said to have been in direct talks with the north London club.
