If you wanted to know how much the World Cup win means to Argentinians then look no further than the reaction of legendary commentator Andres Cantor.
The magnitude of the moment likely doesn’t need to be hit home any further, however, seeing the response across the South American country is truly moving.
The FIFA World Cup brings out the raw emotion in all football fans, with the stakes at an all-time high.

And for Argentina, they proved to be heroes for their nation with a 4-2 penalty shootout victory over France.
The emotion of the victory was perhaps even more amplified by the fact that it solidified Lionel Messi’s position as the greatest of all-time, as he finally lifted the trophy that had eluded him for so long.
One man that has called many of his games for Argentina is Andres Cantor.

The lead play-by-play announcer for United States Spanish-language network Telemundo, Cantor has been active on the scene since 1979.
He was born in Buenos Aires and just like Messi, left Argentina as a teenager to make a life through football.
Like many Argentinians, he’s waited almost 40 years for his home nation to bring home the trophy yet again, calling his first World Cup in 1990.
And he had a front-row seat to call the game and see Gonzalo Montiel clinch the La albiceleste’s third World Cup triumph.

In footage that has since gone viral, the raw passion in his voice and on his face is palpable.
To loosely summarise his call, he yells: “Argentina, champions! Argentina, world champions! Argentina, world champions! Argentina, world champions! Argentina, world champions! Argentina is the world champion!"
As his voice cracks and he embraces his fellow commentary partner, you can’t help but feel a tear come to your eye.
Absolutely bone-chilling.
One fan tweeted: “All that is good about sports and life.”

Another wrote: “I’m not crying, you’re crying.”
Another tweeted: “Watching this gave me goosebumps.”
Simply a terrific moment, and one that Cantor will likely hold for the rest of his life.
