He's reportedly allowed Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Erik Bailly to leave Old Trafford this summer, transfer listing the two defenders.
And it appears the Dutch boss is on the verge of securing a defensive replacement in the shape of Ajax's Jurrien Timber.
The Netherlands international, 20, looks set to follow Ten Hag to Man United after his management team fueled speculation regarding a switch.

Forza Sports Group, who represent Timber, posted a clip of an airport on social media, accompanied with the caption: "Deal closing time..."
Ten Hag was asked about Timber's future following Ajax's final game of the season.
On Timber, he said: "I think all top clubs in Europe have Timber in their sights.

"But I think that currently applies to a lot of Ajax players."
Timber, who operates mainly as a centre-back but can play as a right-back, graduated from Ajax's famed youth academy before breaking into the first team in 2020.
He played 43 games in all competitions this season, helping his side win the Eredivisie title.

The promising defender has six international caps to his name, having made his debut for the Netherlands in 2021.
Man United currently have the likes of Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane on their books.
But Timber could walk straight into the first team considering his starring role under Ten Hag this term.
