A plane carrying the message ‘CATS LIVES MATTER’ was spotted flying over Anfield during the first half of Liverpool's Premier League clash against West Ham on Saturday night.
Last month, a sickening video of Hammers centre-back Kurt Zouma kicking and slapping his pet cat went viral on social media after it was posted on Snapchat by his brother, Yoan.
West Ham soon released a statement condemning the defender's actions but hours later, the centre back was handed a first-team start against Watford - a decision that was criticised by many.
Zouma has since started in numerous games for the Hammers, including last month's tie against Newcastle, where several away supporters mocked the defender throughout by holding up bright orange inflatable cats.
Three weeks later and it appears someone has paid for a huge banner to be flown over Anfield with a message reading 'CATS LIVES MATTER’, all while Zouma was playing for West Ham against Jurgen Klopp's side.

Footage of the plane soon emerged on social media.
An RSPCA spokesperson said of Zouma's actions: “This is a very upsetting video. It’s never acceptable to kick, hit or slap an animal, for punishment or otherwise.

“We are so grateful to people who report suspected animal suffering to us and we would like to reassure people we will always look into and, if necessary, investigate any complaints made to us about animal welfare.”
West Ham, meanwhile, said they would be dealing with the matter internally.
