The FIFA World Cup has reminded everyone just how wonderful the world’s game can be.
Magicians such as Luka Modric, Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann have torn it up creatively with silky passing as they dictate the play.
While the likes of Morocco have shown just how beautiful a passing game can be when played well.

In the spirit of reminding people how genuinely gorgeous football can be, Twitter user Ryan Dilks created a thread of some of the 10 ‘most unbelievable passes football has ever seen’.
Featuring videos shared by Twitter account SexyPasses, the thread sees some silky outside of the foot passes, over-the-top through balls, and generally exquisite creativity.
At number 10 comes in a genius outside-of-the-foot pass from Barcelona legend Dani Alves in a Champions League fixture against PSG.

Collecting the ball about 40 yards out, Alves sees the run of Lionel Messi, and delicately tears open the French side’s defence.
Next up on the list is yet another trivela effort, this time from Chelsea icon Frank Lampard.
The Englishman gains possession of the ball just over halfway before threading a needle with the outside of the boot into the oncoming path of Didier Drogba. Delightful.
Number eight on the list sees Etienne Capoue smash a half-volley from around the halfway line out to the wing whilst playing for Watford.

Silky stuff.
A personal favourite comes in next on the list, from the Spanish maestro Cesc Fabregas.
Receiving the ball on the edge of the area, and looking as if he’s going to hit a worldie of a volley from the outside of the box, Fabregas instead calmly deceives everyone with a deft pass to the incoming Andre Schurrle.
Paul Pogba for France is another beast, and his pass against Cameroon from the sideline proves that.

Giroud runs onto a silky pass that seems to curl across the entire field, truly showcasing Pogba’s second-to-none vision.
Kaka’s defence-splitting pass to Hernan Crespo for AC Milan in the Champions League comes in a number five on the list.
Next up, features not one but two ridiculous passes.

The first, a cross-field pass from Rafael Marquez to football royalty Ronaldinho, who beats his player before playing a pacey ball across the floor and cross-field into the six-yard box.
Angel Di Maria showcases why he has been one of the world’s best with his outside-of-the-foot pass to Kylian Mbappe in a Champions League fixture that completely takes out three defenders.
No stopping that.
Perhaps the most shared effort of the lot comes in at number two, with Moroccan legend Hakim Ziyech’s effortless cross-field effort for Ajax. Beautiful.
And at number one is a gorgeous cross-field volley effort from left-back all-star Marcelo for Real Madrid.
Scintillating stuff.
Football is a beautiful game.
