Four-time world champion Max Verstappen has spoken about the ongoing Formula 1 GOAT debate.
Having eased to victory in the 2022 and 2023 seasons, Verstappen was made to work for his crown in 2024 after a rare drop in form from Red Bull.
The Dutchman had to fend off the challenge of McLaren star Lando Norris before claiming the title in last month's Las Vegas Grand Prix.
As a result, Verstappen has now firmly entered the F1 GOAT conversation after winning four titles on the bounce.

The 27-year-old is now only three behind record holders Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher.
Speaking earlier in the month, former Red Bull driver David Coulthard declared Hamilton as the greatest of all time.
He told Planet F1: "Lewis is the most influential driver in the history of the sport in terms of what he’s done. And anyone who denies his greatness is delusional.
"In a data driven business, the data supports him being the greatest Formula 1 driver in the history of the sport."

When asked whether he was the F1 GOAT, Hamilton previously said: "I mean I know what I am. But that’s something I’ll continue to try and show you."

In a recent interview with Viaplay, Verstappen stated that he is not interested in records and will not continue his career just to chase numbers.

As reported by The Express, Verstappen said: "I don't care to be honest. I’m very happy with what I’m doing.
"At the end of the day, that’s a debate with a lot of different opinions, so for me, that doesn’t matter. I just want to have fun and win as much as I can."
The Red Bull superstar went on to reveal that family will be a main deciding factor in terms of prolonging his racing career.
He said on the Podpah Podcast: "My sister has three kids, seeing more of them as they grow up, seeing them drive those remote cars or electric cars, it reminds me a lot of when I was a kid.

"That makes me realise I don’t want to drive forever. I want to see them grow up, maybe see my own kids grow up and spend time with them."
