Max Verstappen lined up for sensational £1BILLION move that would rock F1 to its core

Could Max Verstappen be on the way out of Red Bull?

Max Verstappen has been linked with a huge move to one of Red Bull's rivals in a deal worth £1 billion.

During the 2024 season, Verstappen came out on top again as he clinched his fourth successive world championship, beating the likes of Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc.

Despite achieving all of his success with Red Bull, Verstappen has constantly been linked with a move away.

Over the past few months, the 27-year-old Dutchman has been linked with the likes of Mercedes and even Williams.

However, on Thursday afternoon, it was claimed that Aston Martin are looking to lure the reigning world champion across.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Aston Martin have told potential sponsors that Verstappen will join the team in a deal worth a whopping £1 billion.

The report stated: "Aston Martin are telling potential sponsors that Max Verstappen will join them in their ambitious bid to win the world title, in a £1billion deal that would be one of the biggest in the history of sport.

"The four-time world champion’s contract could be worth up to £1billion across the remainder of his career and would almost certainly include equity in the Silverstone-based team."

At the moment, it is believed that Verstappen earns £50 million a year at Red Bull, with his contract set to expire in 2028.

It has been suggested that it would take 'serious money' to lure Verstappena way from Red Bull.

According to the report, Jefferson Slack, a close lieutenant of Aston Martin’s Canadian billionaire owner Lawrence Stroll, has 'recently made pitches to potential investors claiming that Verstappen will be joining them'.

However, despite claims made by the Daily Mail, an Aston Martin Aramco spokesperson categorically denied the story.

Currently, the Aston Martin driver lineup consists of two-time world champion Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, son of team owner Lawrence, the pair are contracted to the team for 2025 and 2026.

Billionaire Lawrence has vowed to take the team to the very top and has invested heavily in both the infrastructure and the personnel of the Silverstone-based outfit.

Back in September, it was confirmed that legendary F1 designer Adrian Newey had moved to Aston Martin in a deal worth a reported £30 million a year.
