Fans are genuinely concerned after Lewis Hamilton radio message emerges following Bahrain GP qualifying

Lewis Hamilton concerned F1 fans with what he said on the team radio.

F1 fans have voiced their concerns after hearing Lewis Hamilton's radio message following Bahrain Grand Prix qualifying.

Aside from Hamilton's sprint win in China, it has not been the start to 2025 that Ferrari wanted.

In qualifying, the Brit struggled for pace in the final phase, with his Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc to start from third position in Sunday's race.

Hamilton will start a spot behind Williams' Carlos Sainz in ninth and he could not hide his disappointment afterwards, concerning F1 fans.

On the team radio, he said: "Sorry guys... I'm sorry man, really sorry."

His message got people on social media talking as they expressed their concerns.

One X user wrote: "Think this radio physically hurt me a little."

A second added: "The silence is so loud plus the head shake."

A third said: "Tired of his apologies. He needs to do something ASAP or it will be embarrassing for his legacy. Ferrari might drop him."

Asked about what he was apologising for on the team radio, Hamilton told Sky Sports F1: "It was about my poor performance.

“No reasons, not doing the job. It happens every Saturday.”

Speaking after qualifying, Leclerc said: "Honestly I didn’t expect P3. As soon as we put the new tyres on, it was quite a bit better - I’m happy. We explored extreme setups in the last few weekends and now I’ve found my way a little bit.

"The team has pushed like crazy to get the upgrades, it’s a small gain, not a big one.”

Ferrari have brought a sizeable upgrade package to Bahrain but it does not seem to have enabled them to get closer to McLaren, with Oscar Piastri claiming pole position for the Bahrain Grand Prix

Ferrari had shown strong pace during the early stages of second practice as it was held at night in cooler conditions, but McLaren showed their true pace when the teams conducted their qualifying simulations.
