Ferrari fans are concerned that the car for the upcoming 2026 season may have broken down just hours after it was revealed.

With the start of the 2026 Formula One season now less than six weeks away, teams are starting to show off the drastic changes to their cars for the new campaign.

A host of new regulations, including one that requires teams to cover at least 55% of their cars' surface area with paint or stickers, mean that the 2026 cars will look and perform completely differently to those seen in recent years.

Because of this, Ferrari fans have been eager to see the team's car given the fact that the past couple of seasons have been particularly disappointing for the Italian team.

But just hours after the 2026 car was officially revealed, fans are already worried after footage of the car stationary at its own Fiorano test track appeared online.

Ferrari officially showed off their car for the 2026 season during a series of social media posts on Friday morning, with the car designed with a glossy livery in the famous Ferrari red and white colours.

Off the back of a disastrous season last year, Lewis Hamilton was the first man to drive Ferrari's new SF-26, taking it out on the Fiorano test track amid wet conditions on Friday, with team-mate Charles Leclerc set to have his first run later in the day.

However, it's not clear if this testing session has gone as well as Ferrari may have hoped, as one user on social media platform X shared a video of staff running onto the track to help guide a stationary Ferrari car back into the garage.

Although it remains possible that the stop could have been planned and is therefore nothing to worry about, that hasn't stopped fans on social media from sharing their concerns.

Reacting to the footage, one fan wrote: "Yeah, go on and break our hearts this year too, Scuderia Ferrari SMH."

While another added: "I've seen enough, 2027 here we go!

Sky Sports report on Ferrari 'breaking down' in testing

Thankfully for Ferrari fans, Sky Sports Italy has reportedly claimed that the stop was simply because Hamilton had used up his entire kilometre quote and therefore couldn't drive the car any further.

Meanwhile Sky Sports F1 legend Ted Kravitz admitted that he was impressed by the performance of the Ferrari, despite Hamilton only spending a short amount of time in the car

"The new engine sound is really different... it sounds louder it sounds more raspy," Kravitz revealed.

"Lewis Hamilton out there with his signature yellow crash helmet, looking really good in the Ferrari. Obviously there aren't too many laps they're going to be doing, and it is just a shakedown at the moment."
