The Red Bull team principal has made his feelings clear on Ferrari's decision to sign Hamilton.

Christian Horner has made his feelings clear on Lewis Hamilton's move to Ferrari for the 2025 season.

Hamilton signed a multi-year contract with the Scuderia that commenced at the beginning of 2025.

He will team up with Charles Leclerc in search of a record-breaking eighth Drivers' Championship, with previous team Mercedes having not been in a position to challenge for top honours consistently over the past three seasons.

The 40-year-old has completed two tests with Ferrari, with the most recent of those having been at the Circuit de Catalunya this week.

Hamilton had what was described as a minor crash which curtailed his running on Wednesday, but has otherwise been racking up mileage in a 2023 Ferrari car as he adapts to life at a new team for the first time in 12 years.

He will hope to topple Red Bull's dominance over recent seasons, with Max Verstappen winning each of the last four Drivers' Championships and the team winning the Constructors' Championship in three of those four seasons.

And speaking at the Autosport Awards on Wednesday evening, Red Bull team principal Christian Horner gave his verdict on

Hamilton's move to Ferrari.

He said: "I've seen some pictures. I think it suits him. Look, I think it's great for Formula 1. Lewis Hamilton in a Ferrari - that really is box office.

"I think it's just another dynamic for this year which could be super exciting."

After a challenging end to the 2025 season - which saw McLaren and Ferrari both catch up to Red Bull on pace - Horner stated that it would be more difficult than in previous years for the team to win titles.

He explained: "I think it's going to be super tight. You're going to have four teams that are going to be very competitive. I think it's going to be super tight and take your pick.

"McLaren are going to be strong. Ferrari are going to be strong. Mercedes are going to have something to prove as well. So it could be a stellar year."
