Formula One fans are outraged and have demanded a change must be made after spotting a major error during qualifying for the Chinese Grand Prix sprint race.
Less than a week after the 2025 season opener in Australia, the Chinese Grand Prix race weekend got underway on Friday morning as all 20 F1 drivers competed in the qualifying sessions for Saturday's sprint race.
Following a lacklustre start to his career with new team Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton shocked viewers as he claimed pole position for the sprint race, ahead of rival Max Verstappen and McLaren star Oscar Piastri.

But, despite an exciting morning of on-track action, fans are not happy after spotting one massive error made by F1 officials throughout the qualifying sessions on Friday.
During a qualifying session, it is vitally important that lap times for each of the drivers are displayed on screen throughout the session so fans can easily keep track of which drivers are at risk of missing out on getting into the next session, and who is performing well.
However, during the sprint qualifying on Friday, several graphical errors on the live broadcast of the three sessions meant that on several occasions fans couldn't clearly see what was happening, with the text either appearing on top of other text or disappearing all together.

Sharing an image of the graphical errors, popular F1 influencer Tom Bellingham wrote on X: "Really useful for qualifying."
While another fan added: "F1 please fix you timing graphic ffs. It’s qualifying and we can’t see nothing!"
One fan wrote: "Making sure the timing screen is working should always be the priority of f1 instead of all the other graphics, HOW do they not know this? the viewing experience is very poor without it."

While another aired their frustrations, adding: "F1 a multibillion dollar company and they cant even get the graphics right.. like show me the timings."

Thankfully, the worst of the errors appeared to have been fixed by the time Hamilton and Verstappen crossed the line during the dramatic final moments of the third qualifying session that determines the top 10 starting places for Saturday's race.
But with similar errors appearing during the Australian Grand Prix last week, fans will no doubt be concerned that they could resurface tomorrow during the sprint race or for the qualifying session for the Grand Prix race.
